Job description

As part of our team at DE&S, you will deliver Supply Chain activities contributing to operational success across Item Data Management, Customer Demand Planning, Inventory Supply Planning, Supplier Management, Supply Chain Performance Management, and Inventory Disposals.

This is a key role for enabling optimised supply chains and for escalating emerging issues in a timely manner.

You will be encouraged to develop your skills through training and on the job learning and will ensure that a high-quality service is delivered. This will be demonstrated through your ability to collaborate with others to support your customers in the Front-Line Commands and other DE&S Delivery Teams.

A good eye for detail and skills in the management of data will play a vital part in this post.

These positions are based in our Bristol offices. In-office attendance is expected: the normal requirement is 3 days per week.

What you’ll be doing

  • Creating and maintaining Item Data Records onto the MOD Logistic Information Systems for agreed ranges of equipment
  • Developing Inventory Demand and Supply Plans and executing them within Financial Delegation limit
  • Assisting with identifying and securing optimal storage and distribution solutions and producing Customs Declaration documents
  • Ensuring that all MOD owned inventory is materiel and financially accounted for in accordance with Inventory Materiel & Financial Accounting Policy and Procedures
  • Ensuring that the disposal of Inventory is planned and conducted in a timely manner within financial delegation limits and that appropriate Declaration Forms are completed
  • Assisting support solution development by detailing the mandated Supply Chain requirements, including Government Furnished Equipment (GFE), to all functions, throughout the lifecycle
  • Conducting defined Management Checks

Person specification

To be successful with your application, you’ll need to show that you meet the following essential criteria:

  • Experience in delivering customer service and stakeholder management
  • Adept in operating within a budget
  • Skilled in handling, interpreting, and reporting on data
  • Experience in mentoring/supporting/leading others
  • Background of working within a Supply Chain environment
  • Experience using Logistic Information Systems
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and TEAMS)

Selection process details
