Job summary

The Ops and Plans Infrastructure and Accommodation site co-ordinator is essential to the daily running of RAF St Mawgan core output, providing support to key pillars managing the estate Infrastructure, Contracts and exercise training area and accommodation. As the focal point for the unit for service wide requests, the Executive Officer (EO) must have a good understanding of the MOD and Civil Service (CS) rank structure as they will communicate with a wide variety of ‘customers’ and work closely with a number of unit based personnel to facilitate the core pillars within the Squadron.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week. 

Job description

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

Management, supervision and performance reporting for all Ops & Plans Administrative Grade and Skill Zone Civil Servants.

Facilitate key stakeholder engagements for accommodation and infrastructure planning, projects, and programmes on behalf of Officer Commanding (OC) Ops & Plans.

Maintain the upkeep of the unit accommodation policy, updating in accordance with Health & Safety, Joint Service Publication (JSP) and Station requirements, and the timely dissemination of information to all relevant personnel.

Manage the application of the Station accommodation policy including the oversight of the accommodation booking cell; monitoring the allocation of accommodation on SLAMIS (Single Living Accommodation Management Information System); and the co-ordination of works through Building Custodians.

Manage minor infrastructure projects within the accommodation on behalf of Officer Commanding Station Services Flight (OC SSF), co-ordinating access with occupants, contractors, and all other relevant Stn personnel.

Act as the co-ordination point for the convening of any Siting Boards in conjunction with OC SSF.

Manage the submission of all Statements of Known Hazards (SoKH), including accurate completion and timely co-ordination of all stakeholders specified by OC SSF.

Maintain the upkeep of and disseminate and monitor the application of all Building Custodian orders, ensuring legal mandated compliance across the Station.

Attend Total Facilities Management (TFM) meetings as the Station representative in the absence of the Contract Support Officer (CSO) or OC SSF, co-ordinating feedback between Station personnel and contractors to enable suitable timelines and assurance of contract delivery.

Deliver sustainable and environmental solutions for all future development and ongoing infrastructure projects in conjunction with OC Ops & Plans and the Station Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor (SHSEA).

Advising and assisting the Station Commander and Station Executives to meet Defence and RAF Net Zero targets.

Participate in any other tasks that are deemed attributable to Ops & Plans outputs

Person specification

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of working within the MOD or, the ability to quicky adapt to changing hierarchies. Good written and oral communication skills are essential to relay messages and decisions to a wide demographic of personnel. A good working knowledge of Microsoft applications is essential, with the capacity for further training in order to operate internal IT programmes. Must be able to work effectively within a team and work under their own initiative.
