Job summary

Big Job – Bigger Opportunity – Lasting Legacy

Here at the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS), we believe a financially healthy nation is good for individuals, communities, businesses and the economy. As the largest single funder of free debt advice in England we helped well over a million people with debt advice, money guidance and pension guidance over the last year.

We’re looking for people who have the right skills, knowledge and behaviours for the job, but equally as important is a strong commitment to our objectives, values and vision. We passionately care about transforming lives and want this to drive everything we do as an organisation.

Now four years into our life as an organisation, we are looking for an accomplished leader to join us as an Executive Director and SRO of the nationally important Pensions Dashboards Programme. Pensions dashboards will enable individuals to access their pensions information online, securely and all in one place.

Dashboards will provide clear and simple information about an individual’s multiple pension savings, including their State Pension. We are responsible for designing and implementing the architecture and standards that will see the programme succeed.

Job description

As the Senior Responsible Owner for this programme, you will be accountable to parliament for the Pensions Dashboards Programme meeting its objectives, delivering the required outcomes, and realising the required benefits. As a key member of the executive leadership team and board, your role will extend into the wider strategic leadership of MaPS, shaping our future direction and ensuring that we have a culture that enables people to flourish in delivering the impact we are passionate about realising.

For this role, you will need to have an established track record of delivering large scale and complex programmes to deliver tangible benefits to service users. You will demonstrate highly effective stakeholder engagement and influence skills, with the ability to build cross-sector collaboration to deliver business and programme goals.

You will be an accomplished team leader, able to provide direction, development and high performance for the people you have led. We need an inspirational leader who can demonstrate experience of taking people with them on a journey of transformational change and be passionate about the impact we have on the lives of people across the UK. Culture is as important as capability, and you will demonstrate values set in line with those we have developed at MaPS.
