Job summary

Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre (DMRC) delivers consultant led rehabilitation services to support planned and contingent operations in order to maximise the moral and physical components of fighting power.

Are you someone who is customer focused and a team player, who has plenty of enthusiasm and enjoys a challenge? Here at DMRC, Stanford Hall, we are looking for a Motor Transport Driver to transport passengers and/or loads to their correct destination or appointment.

The vacant post is a full-time position. Part-time candidates will be considered but due to service delivery requirements it must be on a job share basis as full-time hours need to be covered.

Job description

The MT Driver is responsible to the Defence Transport Manager (DTM) for safely and efficiently carrying out all driving related tasks.

There will be, on occasion, the requirement to carry out unplanned overtime in order to complete allocated tasks.

There is also a requirement to periodically assume the duties of on-call Duty Driver to provide cover for both medical and military contingency plans.

Person specification

As the successful candidate your duties include but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring the cleanliness of your vehicle.
  • Carrying out a daily inspection of your vehicle and ensuring vehicle security when away from the unit.
  • Planning the best possible route to and from your destination in advance of a journey.
  • Driving Very Important Persons (VIP) or Commanding Officers
  • Carrying out the task of Welfare and Rehabilitation Driver.

Selection process details
