Job summary

UK Security Vetting are recruiting new Pre-Assessors to contribute to the efficient administration and processing of applications for security clearance.

Job description

  • Working as part of a team responsible for delivering a full review of vetting applications; including confirming identity and checking information provided.
  • Responding to enquiries and seeking further information from vetting subjects, sponsors and others in the vetting community. This may be via email or telephone.
  • Sensitively and securely handling customer information. Attention to detail and discretion are essential as vetting confidentiality is paramount in safeguarding the personal information being processed.
  • Providing a quality service, understanding the end-to-end vetting process and appreciating where your role fits into this to identify the right actions and interventions to best support applications and colleagues.

Person specification

As a Pre-Assessor within UK Security Vetting we are looking for people who have the following expertise and attributes:

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • The capacity to work both independently and as a team member
  • Able to handle customer information sensitively and securely
  • Good IT skills, including a knowledge of Microsoft Office products (such as Word and Outlook)
  • Good communication skills; able to articulate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
  • The ability to deliver a consistent and high-quality customer-focused service to relevant stakeholders
  • The ability to make impartial and well-considered judgments
  • The ability to deliver at pace and work towards targets, whilst not compromising on quality

You will be asked to provide a 250 word statement on the Behaviours Delivering at Pace.

To assess experience, you will be asked to provide a 500 word statement of suitability. A personal statement should provide a summary of your skills and achievements to show that you have the relevant experience, skills and attributes required for the role. Please detail your experience relevant to the role and carefully consider the criteria listed in the person specification.

Should a large number of applications be received, an initial sift may be undertaken using the lead Behaviour, Delivering at Pace. Candidates who pass the initial sift may be progressed to a full sift, or progressed straight to interview.
