Job description
We look forward to reading your application for the role of Senior DEI Implementation Advisor
This role is playing a key part in the implementation of the Police Race Action Plan working closely with the national PRAP team, tackling VAWG working with the taskforce and implementing the new Code of Ethics. The role also has a key part in the implementation of college products and services.
The selected candidate will deliver practical support for policing in line with the College strategy and business plan, specifically the implementation of specified Diversity, Equality & Inclusion products and plans including national programmes.
Person specification
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders to engage their support, stimulate collaborative activity and understanding and participation in the development and implementation of national and Colleges DEI strategic plans.
- Using an evidence-based approach, shape practice which strengthens an inclusive approach to policing whilst recognising local force priorities.
- Support the development of action plans and advise, guide and support the police service in the implementation of specified DEI plans including the dissemination of emerging promising and good practice across policing.
To be successful in this role youll need:
- A level 6 qualification in the subject matter or equivalent experience within the DEI specialism
- Strong ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels and work collaboratively to achieve objectives
- Knowledge and understanding of DEI issues and challenges and understanding of the wider policing landscape with the ability to relate DEI policy decisions to the development of standards, practice and guidance
- Proven experience of developing systems, processes and relationships to identify, explore and disseminate effective practice within policing or similar sectors.

Interview date: It is anticipated the interviews will be held on Thursday 23rd November on Microsoft Teams.
This role is available for 2 years as a secondment opportunity to:
- colleagues employed directly by the College or the Civil Service. Please note you will be required to obtain the written support of your line manager prior to submitting your application.
- serving police officers substantive in the rank of Chief Inspector, or those officers suitably qualified for temporary promotion in the rank of Inspector. All applicants must have the support of their Chief Officer which must be of NPCC rank, i.e., CC, ACC or DCC and this must accompany an application.
- serving police staff at the equivalent rank of Chief Inspector who have their chief officer’s approval. Chief Officers approval must be of NPCC rank, i.e., CC, ACC or DCC. Approval for a secondment must accompany an application.
Central service conditions may apply for police officers and staff and temporary promotion is available (amend for Police staff only).
