Job summary

Your skillset is unique. Strategic thinking, stakeholder management, and commercial frameworks – you’ve got experience of it all. You’re the perfect fit to play a pivotal role in our partnership with the FCDO and in setting our future strategic direction. You will have had similar roles before, but at FCDO Services you will also be contributing to protecting the nation’s interests at home and overseas.

Job description

As a part of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and as a Trading Fund, FCDO Services is a trusted partner for government customers worldwide. We work on a huge range of projects, from constructing government buildings to earthquake-proofing embassies.

Use your experience to help shape our future

An integral part of the FCDO Services’ Executive team, you’ll lead on developing our organisational strategy and commercial arrangements. You’ll build strong relationships – working with customers to enhance our performance. You will also work collaboratively internally, to integrate and challenge in developing our organisation for the future.

A key component of the role will be keeping FCDO Services competitive – making sure customers trust us to provide the best solutions for their needs. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders, creating first-class end-to-end services. Externally, our partners are representing the UK around the world. You’ll work with them to ensure FCDO Services supports the needs of the Foreign Secretary and the UK government’s global interests.

A commercial role that’s hugely varied

Engaging and influencing at the most senior levels is essential and you’ve got the communication skills to get it done. It’s your ability to work with others, to build those vital relationships while being a great team player, which will help us to achieve our goals. Blending your excellent commercial skills with a public sector mission, you’ll be the catalyst for excellence – and that’s critical.

It calls for a real mix of skills, including strategic thinking, stakeholder management and commercial acumen, while your leadership qualities will be second to none. You’ll lead a team of experts in strategic planning, commercial, market and customer insights, bid and account management. Under your guidance, they’ll focus on stakeholder management, future business growth and meeting revenue and performance targets.

We invest in our people – so you’ll have access to training and other development opportunities to help grow your career with us. Above all else, we can offer you an exciting opportunity with impact.

FCDO Services are regulated by the Civil Service Commission.
