The Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA) is a part of the Ministry of Defence responsible for the procurement, in-service support, and disposal of the UKs nuclear submarines. We have the perfect opportunity for you! We at the Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA) are excited to be expanding our team of Senior Project Managers across our Project Delivery Function.
With multiple positions available in a variety of Project teams, we want you to bring your knowledge, skills and experience into the SDA. A career with us will provide you with diverse opportunities in key roles at the forefront of the most technically complex projects. This will include supporting the delivery of Major Governments Projects.
If you have project delivery and leadership experience, aspirations for further development, and the passion and commitment to consistently deliver the best outcomes, then you will find yourself in good company as part of our team.
We operate a hybrid working environment and the expectation is that you will attend site approximately twice a week according to business/team need. Please be aware that you could be expected to attend site more often depending on your specific teams priorities and requirements. Initially, you will be expected to attend more frequently to familiarise yourselves with the site, the team, and your new role.

Responsibilities
- Lead and develop high performing multidisciplinary teams, to deliver agreed time, cost, and quality outcomes across different stages of the life cycle.
- Demonstrate resilience in operating in volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous environments.
- Build strong relationships across a complex stakeholder environment, clarifying requirements, boundaries and managing expectations.
- Establish an open, no blame and inclusive culture, whilst leading by example.
- Manage contractors effectively ensuring delivery against contractual commitments.
- Use structured techniques to ensure delivery against the agreed plan whilst actively managing risks.
Person specification
To be successful with your application, you’ll need to show that you meet the following essential criteria:
- Experience in leading in a project environment (setting targets and objectives, clarifying requirements, boundaries and managing expectations) and holding accountability for delivering outputs.
- Experience in building strong stakeholder relationships within all levels of the business.
- Proven experience in the fields of Project Delivery, Operations Management or Change Management.
- Effective utilisation of project techniques to monitor performance against the plan, actively identifying and managing risks and finding solutions.
