  • Hold GPP Core Accreditation at Chartered, Certified or Fellow grade – Member Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS), Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IFWM), Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), Chartered Engineer (CEng), Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv), Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI), Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).

Job description

As head of corporate estates management, you are accountable for the operational and financial delivery of all property services and asset management services (transactions and property management) across the CPS estate. You drive a culture of service excellence through continuous improvements and commercially sound decisions relating to all aspects of property. You work with senior stakeholders to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, play a pivotal role in customer liaison yourself, and share best practice with business and area management.

Person specification

  • To support the head of estates with creating and implementing the strategic asset management plan including relocation, modernisation, and suitability of the CPS estate. This supports recruitment and retention by providing our people with a modern, inclusive, and sustainable place to work.
  • To manage the Lease Events Pipeline / Property Transaction Tracker for all current and future portfolio lease / occupancy events, including expiries and breaks. To lead as the CPS Transaction Manager on the preferred property solution/s agreeing the terms and putting in place relevant legal occupancy documentation with the Government Property Agency (GPA), their advisors and colleagues.
  • To provide assurance to the CPS board and executive team including the estates steering group, area strategy boards, area business managers and chief crown prosecutors on the effective delivery of facilities management services, as provided through the GPA.
  • To lead on effective Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), working in partnership with the GPA, to secure optimal performance of the CPS built environment.
  • To be a visible leader, effectively managing key stakeholder relationships and engagement arrangements including working in close partnership with the GPA and area business managers to deliver the national CPS estates strategy.
  • Represent the CPS at cross-government estates forums and meetings, sharing best practice and acting as an advocate for the department.

This is a full-time post. However, requests for flexible, part-time working and job share will be considered, considering at all times the operational needs of the Department.

Clearance Required 

The successful applicant will be required to secure DBS clearance to speed up this process; you should bring 3 forms of ID with you on the day of interview.  Data gathered from unsuccessful candidates will be destroyed in accordance with our Data Retention Policy.

Waiting List 

Candidates who are recommended by the selection panel but not appointed to the current vacancy will be placed on a waiting list for 12 months and may be offered another post, should any further vacancies for a Head of Corporate Estates Management arise in the Chief Finance Officer Directorate during this period. CPS may also approach candidates on the waiting list to fill other roles requiring similar knowledge and experience.
