Job summary
Here at Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC), we are inclusive and dedicated, working to provide excellent care to our entitled personnel.
We are looking for a friendly, well-organised and adaptable Administration Officer to join our encouraging and welcoming team of dedicated military and civilian healthcare professionals and administrative staff working within DPHC at Hereford.
The vacant post is a full-time position. Part-time candidates will be considered but due to service delivery requirements it must be on a job share basis as full-time hours need to be covered.

Strategic Command Transformation
Strategic Command is going through a significant transformation programme which aims to improve the way the Command conducts its business and delivers for Defence and the nation. As a consequence of this, all posts within Strategic Command Headquarters and in time the wider organisation, are/will be subject to review and potential changes as we continuously improve across the period of the transformation programme. Job description
The Administrative Officer/Dental Receptionist is responsible for the provision of administrative support to the DPHC in addition to liaising with patients by telephone or written correspondence, whilst maintaining patient confidentiality.
You may be required to work at the main reception which will entail, greeting patients and visitors to the facility in a courteous and professional manner, answering any queries patients may have regarding their appointments. Making appointments and maintaining the appointment system on the Defence Medical Information Capability Programme
(DMICP).
Person specification
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Checking-in patients and raising the necessary documentation.
- Maximising clinical time usage by filling gaps in the DMICP diary as scheduled by the SDO/PM.
- Actioning all recall reports, taskings and nominal roles from Defence Medical Integrated Capability Programme (DMICP) and making the appropriate appointments.
- Working collaboratively with professional colleagues and in the best interests of patients.
Desirable skills/experience:
- Previous Administrative experience with good knowledge of Microsoft office
- NVQ Business Administration Level 2 (or suitable clerical experience)
- Good organisational skills
