Job description

Role

We’re looking for business continuity and resilience lead practitioner to join our Information Security, Compliance and Resilience directorate. This role will be a key point of contact on all matters relating to business continuity and crisis management, to provide information, guidance and advice as required to support continuity of service for TPR in delivery of its statutory functions and corporate objectives.

As a member of this team you will, following training, provide domain expertise to all levels across TPR including Directors and Senior Management in conducting and facilitating Critical Process impact assessments and how to record this using the Continuity 2 BCM tool.

• Deliver training in business impact assessments to those responsible for business continuity and crisis management planning.

• Understand and communicate the TPR crisis management and continuity planning framework.

• Train staff at all levels in use of the continuity planning tool, Continuity 2 (C2).

• Provide updates, MI and data on progress.

• Support Gold, Silver and Bronze Crisis Management teams during incidents in line with the TPR crisis management framework.

• Provide and deliver a schedule of testing and exercising scenarios at all levels.

• Provide and maintain a programme of continuous improvement across the business.

Responsibilities

You will:

• Engage in proactive consultation with the business in relation to information security, Business impact analysis and business continuity planning.

• Design and implement business continuity and crisis management controls to protect TPR from compliance, reputational and financial risks.

• Provide assurance by monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of TPR’s business continuity framework and the management of TPR’s exposure to risks.

• Provide advice on TPR business continuity policy, procedures, processes and controls.

• Take an active role in developing and coordinating training and awareness on BC and CM issues across TPR.

Person specification

Essential and Desirable Criteria

• Experience of collaborator management best practice and techniques.

• A previous role in a business continuity and/or crisis management role.

• Proven understanding of ISO22301 and 27001 or willingness to learn.

• Confident presentation skills to a large audience at all levels, virtual or face to face meetings.

• Experience of undertaking continuous evaluation and improvement of operational processes.

Desirable skills:

• Experience of risk control and process assurance.
