This is a key role within this unique organisation ensuring the continued high standards of our manufacturing capability in producing printed circuit boards (bare PCB’s). You do not need previous experience within the industry, although this would be desirable, as full training and guidance will be given. You must though, have experience of handling chemistry and have a very good understanding of Health & Safety Concerns with it.

Your highly responsible and primary role within the department will be ensuring the chemistry in the multi-million-pound processing lines, which includes a gold plating line (ENEPIG), hard gold plating for edge connectors, 3rd generation copper via filling line, tin and copper plating lines as well as the etching and developer lines are kept within manufacturers guidelines.

Working closely with the quality assurance (QA) team you will identify chemical adjustments that might identify early plating issues on the plating lines. By using your communication and influencing skills to feed back any adjustments required to the machine operators to ensure our products are manufactured to the very highest standards. 

You will also be working closely with our Research & Development teams for on-boarding of new technology and chemistry requirements, offering advice and guidance as and when required.

Using your diverse range of skills within the Printed Circuit Manufacturing Team, you will:

•    Develop new skills relevant to printed circuit manufacturing.
•    Perform chemical analysis and ensure Health & Safety requirements are met.
•    Monitor chemistry in various manufacturing processes and advise of necessary changes.
•    Work in accordance with current processes, procedures and work instructions.
•    Learn how to operate relevant manufacturing equipment safely.
•    Work within a team to manufacture products.
•    Aid manufacture of products to meet cost, quality and time criteria.

Person specification

To apply for this role, you will already have:
•    Experience of chemical analysis techniques.
•    Experience of conforming to Health and Safety guidelines and ensuring others understand how to handle chemicals safely.
•    Experience of data collection and analysis of results including maintaining accurate records. 
•    Knowledge of waste management – In particular the correct labelling, storage and collating ready for dispatch.

To strengthen your application, it would be beneficial if you also have:

•    Experience of chemistry stock control – including stock rotation and re-ordering.
•    Excellent communication skills.
•    Ability to solve complex problems.
•    Experience of working in a detail driven environment.
•    Experience of working in a manufacturing environment.
