Summary  

The Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA) is an Executive Agency of the Ministry of Justice (MoJ). We are a team of over 300 people, with an office base in central Glasgow.

We are proud to provide government funded compensation for victims of violent crime across Great Britain, according to rules set out by Parliament in the Criminal Injuries Compensation and Victims of Overseas Terrorism Schemes. As a cross-border authority, we administer these Schemes on behalf of the Ministry of Justice in England & Wales and for the Scottish Government.

As the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DCEO) of CICA, you will be at the forefront of ensuring CICA delivers our mission to deliver a sensitive, trauma-informed service which is fair and accurate, and makes efficient use of our resources. 

You will be part of the senior leadership team at CICA as we rise to the challenges of managing higher claims volumes, drive forward our commitments to continuous improvement and make greater use of modern digital technologies to enhance applicant experience and improve our efficiency.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Development of operational strategy and initiatives to drive improved customer experience,
  • Ensuring robust plans are in place across your area of responsibility to deliver CICA’s business plan objectives and agreed outcomes.
  • Facilitating the delivery of continuous improvement and business transformation objectives informed by data analysis, feedback and expert functional partners.
  • Fulfilment of activities contributing to internal governance, counter fraud, risk management and reporting in liaison with MoJ functional providers.
  • Personal contribution to senior leadership and engagement which maintains a strong connection of our people to purpose and cultural values.
  • Representing CICA at meetings within CICA, Ministry of Justice, with other government departments and stakeholders.
  • Deputising for the CEO in senior level meetings within CICA, MoJ and with key partners and stakeholders, as required.
