Introduction 

The Office of the Executive is a newly established team, led by the Clerk of the House and the Director General (Operations). It provides support to the executive and facilitates the delivery of strategic priorities. The team comprises several key corporate functions, including communications, inclusion and diversity, resilience, election planning, an operations team for team services and private office support, and a delivery team to deliver organisational initiatives and priorities.

Job description

The Delivery and Implementation Manager is a new role and is part of the Delivery directorate. It sits within a new team that has been established to facilitate the delivery of some of the key priority areas for the Clerk of the House and Director General (Operations).

This role will work closely with the Director of Delivery and senior leadership in teams across the House of Commons and PDS to develop systems and processes of delivery for key policies that are being implemented. 

Some of the responsibilities for this role include:

  • Act as central focal point and source of knowledge for prioritised projects and programmes undertaken by the Delivery team (for example, job families). This will include advising and working with teams engaged in the process on steps to be taken on the project, documenting progress and developing materials as a resource for the organisation. 
  • Support the Director of Delivery in developing a process for identifying operational priorities on a quarterly basis to help target organisational resources effectively.
  • Support the Director of Delivery and Project and Policy Lead to develop implementation plans for new, revised or existing policies that have been prioritised by the Clerk of the House and Director General. 

Person specification

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

  • Excellent organisational – prioritise workload and effectively manage several complex activities at the same time.
  • Works with minimal direction; is flexible and highly self-motivated; and takes responsibility for resolving issues.
  • An understanding of stakeholders in order to build trust and meet shared goals, adapt personal style as appropriate; considerable experience of developing effective working relationships across a diverse workforce.
  • An understanding of how the House service and its Committees work and the structure and decision-making processes of the House administration. 
Alongside your salary of £56,180, House of Commons contributes
£15,168 towards you being a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.
