Job summary

The Establishment Safety Advisor (ESA) is the focal point for Health and Safety matter across the Establishment working directly to the Establishment  Safety Fire and Environmental Officer. The ESA  provides advice pan site on the Establishment Safety Policy so that all matters regarding Health, Safety and supporting legislation is implemented.

Please note that HMS SULTAN is due to transfer to Navy Command within the period Nov 2024 to Nov 2025. This post may therefore be in scope for potential outsource under Project Selborne during this period.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Job description

You will be providing specialist advice and assistance to the line management on site in compliance with current legislation and Establishment policy.  Day to day you will manage the accident reporting account, arrange competency training to meet the Training Plan and conduct audits monitoring and measuring departments for compliance with CO O&A Statement. 

Person specification

You should be outgoing and engaging. Able to communicate at all levels to the variety of personnel working on site to educate and advise on all matter related to Health and Safety. You should be able to work autonomously whilst also be able to fit into a small team.

Qualifications

a. NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety

The post does not offer relocation expenses.
