Job description
This role is an opportunity to be part of developing and implementing a new enabling role being introduced into DBS DIT. You will be tasked with working with DBS approvals SMEs to ensure that DBS DIT meets it obligations for both internal and external approval processes, providing support and proactive management to those going through the process and any subsequent acquisition.
Working as a process SME, your main responsibilities will include:
Establishing relationships with key stakeholders including senior leaders across DIT, finance, people and HR colleagues across the organisation in order to understand the networks specific to requirements management within DIT, and where these sit within approvals.
Actively build networks across DIT and other MOD business areas to seek best practice in undertaking and satisfying approvals requirements and obligations and ensuring that requirement owners follow this.
Work with the 1* led DIT management board to highlight and embed best practice and to ensure forward look of requirements and current approvals activities are aligned and that forecast dates are achievable.
You will then be able to help shape and inform approvals submissions and strategies particularly by using analysis and insight of business activities to reveal patterns and correlations across DBS DIT procurement requirements.
You will be required to support DBS DIT Supplier Manager in identifying future third party contract requirements and working with HO Commercial to ensure this is reflected on their pipeline
There may also be a requirement for support to internal MI including:
Producing clear reports on progress of approvals and procurements, presenting data and conclusions logically and concisely in the most appropriate format highlighting any insights generated from current activities.
Assist in ad hoc Supplier Management activities, such as collating slide packs, data requests or briefings, alongside cover at DIT Management meetings as and when required.
Occasional travel to other DBS or MOD sites may be required.
DBS operates a blended working approach which will be a combination of office based and homeworking. The post holder will be required to work on a 40:60 office:home ratio.
Person specification
Experience of project management techniques including relevant Project management software such as MS Project or Primavera P6 or equivalent.
Stakeholder engagement and management with a range of stakeholders both within and outside your wider team.
Ability to communicate and convey proposals, ideas and recommendations to different audiences.
Demonstrable ability to exploit and interrogate planning data and schedules to help predict future resource profiles and propose appropriate resource allocation or impact on expected timelines.
Ability to balance the requirements of several stakeholders, their priorities and deadlines, with agility and diplomacy.
Self-motivation to plan, develop and deliver significant pieces of work with light touch management, whilst also being part of a team which needs to pivot to deliver an overriding priority on occasion.
Enthusiasm for own and colleagues continuing professional development
Desirable:
Experience of approvals at all levels from MOD Internal, through Ministerial.

We want to offer opportunities to all who are successful at interview for our roles, but this isnt always possible, so we do hold candidates on an active reserve list for 12 months.
