The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) sits at the heart of the criminal justice system, working with partners to help keep the public safe. We deal with criminal cases at every level – including burglary, terrorism, domestic abuse and multi-million pound fraud cases. We also work across borders to tackle cybercrime, human trafficking and drugs smuggling, and use our powers to confiscate the proceeds of crime at home and abroad.

As we look to 2025, we’re also focusing on our organisational digital capability in a broader sense. This will span all five aims within our CPS 2025 Strategy, boldly embracing innovation and new ways of working.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced senior project manager to join the team to manage digital Projects across the Digital Commercial and Information Directorates Portfolio of Change.

As we look to achieve our 2025 strategic ambitions, the post holder will be responsible for the project delivery of technology changes and services, that enable CPS to constantly adapt to the changing crime landscape.

The jobholder will be responsible for supporting and Managing the delivery of Projects.  You will lead projects of medium complexity/Medium risk yourself or form part of a wider team delivering Programmes of work.

You will need to be effective in a multi supplier environment, with new or transitioning services, and assure service integration results in minimal impact on operational delivery.

  • The jobholder will have an understanding of change delivery methodologies, have excellent communications skills and be able to work collaboratively to achieve Business outcomes.
  • Working with colleagues in the Digital Technology Services division, the jobholder must expertly address the complex web of interdependencies of a fast-paced digital change environment in order to avoid and minimise conflict and disruption and deliver the desired outcomes. They will do this by taking an independent, objective and process-oriented way of analysing data, making fitting proposals and executing the agreed recommendation. They will monitor and communicate key outcomes. 
  • They will be proactive in engagement and build strong business relationship across the department on all levels, providing and educating internal stakeholders on the management and reporting of risk and dependency mapping
  • The jobholder will manage risk and dependencies and able to prioritise and adapt to changing circumstances.

Person specification

  • The jobholder will have overall responsibility for a project including assisting the production of a Business Case. They will Manage all deliverables whilst ensuring value for money and use change delivery methodologies which are in line with Project Management Standards
  • The Job holder will ensure that all relevant Governance is adhered to in line with Project Management standards.
  • The jobholder will identify and Manage stakeholder groups, both internal and external.
  • You will Manage all Project spend by actively monitoring all predicted and actual spend and ensure all benefits are realised.
  • The jobholder will share skills and knowledge of PPM best practice within the Change team and the wider directorate.
  • Builds strong working relationships with suppliers/delivery partners who are involved in developing and deploying ICT products and services as well as with internal colleagues across corporate services, HQ and CPS areas.
  • Where appropriate, line management responsibility for project manager(s).

Waiting List
