Job summary
This role is in the DST Commissioning team.
A Project Contract Manager, covering project and contract management for effective delivery of projects with contract administration and contract management assignments.
The role provides working level support to Senior Responsible Officers, Programme Managers and the Senior Commercial Manager.
The role includes leading the delivery of projects, identifying and monitoring project risks and issues, developing mitigating actions and escalate as appropriate, ensuring contracts are delivered on time and within budget, review of deliverables from a project perspective, managing requests for changes to cost or schedule, dispute resolution, post costing and close out. Providing key reports and supporting effective governance and decision making.
The Project Contract Manager will be responsible for their own outputs, with the opportunity to attend relevant training and on-the-job learning.

Job description
- Ensuring delivery of contracts and projects to time cost and quality
- Holding suppliers to account to ensure they meet their obligations under the contract
- Evaluation of reports and deliverables to ensure project and commercial compliance with the contract
- Conducts or supports a range of dialogues and simple negotiations with suppliers
- Provide key reports and support effective governance and decision making.
- Generation and manipulation of MI and presentation skills
- Comfortable with the use of ERP systems to generate requisitions
- Ensure effective Change Management processes are in place.
- Innovative, thinking of new ways of working and improve contract delivery or outputs.

Person specification
This role is suitable for an individual who has worked in a project or programme management office with experience of planning, governance, contract management and risk or has experience of managing a project, programme, contract or strand of activity.
This role would also be suitable for an individual with appropriate skills gained in a non-project environment, for example in areas such as planning, resourcing, risk and governance or analytical skills in another profession or area of work.
The idea candidate will:
- Hold Contract Management Capability Programme (CMCP) Foundation or completed within the first 3 months
- Have awareness of Project Delivery best practice processes
- Expert in the use of MS Office 365, Excel and SharePoint
The ideal candidate is likely to:
- Have the ability to demonstrate Commercial Functional competence and skills at Practicing level, for post-award contract management
