Job description

Working in the United States Visiting Forces team provides a unique and exciting opportunity for individuals to work for a mission focused customer where we strive to deliver projects in a dynamic and challenging working environment.

Person specification

We ask our Project Managers to provide effective management, motivation, co-ordination and development of project teams to deliver a portfolio of projects to time, cost, quality and performance parameters.

Responsibilities include:

Engaging with the senior Intelligent Client over the management of the industry partners being used to deliver projects on behalf of DIO

Proactive Contract Management to maintain a productive working relationship with industry partners and suppliers

Manage financial performance of projects and provide accurate financial reporting and forecasting to senior management

Undertake project assurance and reviews to provide confidence to senior management, customers and key stakeholders

Support Customers by managing and maintaining project approvals, and delivering within your delegated authority

Work with our Area Manager to develop a High Performing Team ethos within the Projects Team

Desirable Experience and Skills:

1. Membership of a relevant professional body. 
2. Significant knowledge and experience of leading complex projects ideally within infrastructure construction, refurbishment and replacement programmes of work.
3. Scheduling experience, ideally for infrastructure construction related programmes/projects.

Employment Hours:

This role cannot be advertised as part-time or job-share as it would not meet the business need. The projects that this role would be overseeing cannot be supported by part-time or job-sharing as they require 5-day, full time support. There will be a mixture of on-site face-to-face and Teams meetings to attend. The dates of these are not consistent and are relative to customer requirement as well as the project needs.
