Job description

The role of the Assistant Project Manager is to lead and manage smaller projects or project activities on a day-to-day basis. The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for driving and overseeing the delivery of the projects/activities they are assigned, to ensure that the objectives are clearly defined and achieved within the agreed time, cost and quality constraints. The Assistant Project Manager has a key role in project governance and working with stakeholders, to ensure the agreed project outputs are delivered to enable benefits to be realised. No two days are the same!

Person specification

We will ask you to:
•    Support the Integrated Project Team in order to deliver DIO outputs
•    Work collaboratively and develop skills and experience in the application of project and programme management standard methodology including planning, scheduling, financial management, risk management reporting and stakeholder engagement.
•    Direct delivery in collaboration with users and industry, with a view to delivery of the project within budget and time constraints
•    Act as the MoD focal point for resolution of all technical issues and support all performance management reporting needs
•    Support wider DIO business and improvement in a variety of ways including undertaking post-project lessons learned exercise and sharing/making use of best practice where appropriate.
