Job summary
Defence Medical Services is the organisation within the MOD that provides healthcare to its service personnel both in the UK and aboard. The organisation consists of Military and Civilian personnel, working together to deliver healthcare to those on the front line.
DMS Group is undertaking an ambitious transformation journey with a number of large-scale programmes.

As a DMS Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning and delivering key projects in pursuit of the DMS Quadruple Aim. You will build, support, oversee and lead multidisciplinary teams to ensure project objectives are clear and defined; delivered to approved standards of time, cost and quality; and project progress monitored and reported effectively.
The post offers 37 hrs per week but requests to work flexibly and/or part time will be considered, taking into account business needs. Hybrid working will be considered.
Job description
You will have significant autonomy to lead your teams in the planning and delivery projects in line with Defence Policy and Portfolio, Programme and Project Management (P3M) methodologies, but will be held accountable by, receive support from, and report direct to the DMS Programme Manager.
The Project Manager will initially be assigned to Medical Operational Capability Programme Team Leidos Change Proposal, with the ability to travel to Northwood weekly.

Duties and responsibilities of the role include but not limited to:
- Consulting a wide range of stakeholders and explore a robust range of options and evidence bases to develop, seek approval for, and maintain Project Plans, including (but not limited to); schedules; milestones; risks; resource plans; costs; benefits; assumptions, dependencies and risk management plans.
- Motivate, Coordinate and Lead multidisciplinary teams in the Delivery of approved project plans. Making day to day decisions in line with approved plans.
- Lead on associated procurement activities in support of project acquisition objectives and in line with Defence and Government Commercial policy.

Selection process details
This sift will be based on your CV and personal statement. The interview will be based on Success Profiles and will assess your Behaviours and Technical skills, these are listed on the advert.
During the interview you will also be required to do a 10 minute presentation on a project you have managed, the outcomes and lessons learnt for the organisation and yourself.
This job role may be suitable for hybrid working, which is an informal, non-contractual and voluntary arrangement, blending a balance of attendance in the workplace (your permanent duty station which is based on business assessment of where the work is best done) and working from home as a personal choice (if the role is suitable for this). If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post.
There will be no reimbursement for any travel expenses for the interview.
