The Project Delivery & Improvement Profession at UKRI are looking for an experienced senior programme manager to join their project delivery team. The key purpose of this role is effective management, delivery, and co-ordination of change programmes and complex projects across our organisation.
The programme manager will be responsible for the coordination and delivery of the relevant programmes various projects, their dependencies (internal and external), key milestones and critical path, risks, governance, financial management, benefits planning, implementation of delivery and handover to operations for benefits realisation across the programmes.
Job description
- Business case Development and clearance of the business case with project leads and SMEs.
- Communications & Stakeholder Management Identify and manage stakeholder relationships and highlight need for senior level support. Manage internal and external relationships as appropriate.
- Guidance & Support Provide direction and guidance on development to team and more broadly across departmental profession. Show commitment to personal development. Promote effective individual and team performance.
- Resource Management Secure resources and direct planning scheduling, resourcing and estimating for complex and large-scale programmes.
- Risks & Issues Oversee risk and issue management. Ensure mitigations are in place and resolved through negotiated agreement.
Person specification
- Degree level qualification or equivalent experience
- Think of, research, and lead new ideas and ways of doing things.
- Promote the wider public good in all actions and to act in a morally, legally and socially appropriate manner at all times, challenging unacceptable behaviour.
- Extensive experience of applying relevant project management methodology qualifications such as Prince2, MSP, APM PMQ, Agile, CI Green Belt, APMG Change Management
- Demonstrative experience of leading the successful delivery of Projects and/or Programmes across multiple departments/stakeholders in both technical and non-technical environments with detailed knowledge of project management tools, methodology and best practice
