We are the Radon Group, a team of 20 people with diverse skills in science, technology, logistics and business. We aim to raise awareness of radon (the largest radiation source in the UK) , a natural radioactive gas that can affect health. We offer radon measurements and advice on how to reduce radon levels in homes and workplaces. We also conduct research and development to improve our services. Our website www.ukradon.org features the radon potential map of the UK, which shows the likelihood of radon in different areas based on data from almost 600,000 homes and local geology.

As a Higher Radiation protection Scientist, you will be an enthusiastic member of our small team of experts in providing advice on radon health risks and control to various stakeholders, such as householders and employers. You will use your strong technical skills to support the design and management of projects to analyse the National Radon Database, and work on new areas of investigation and research. As part of the team you will become familiar standards and regulations on radon in the UK to achieve greater impact in the future.
